A free, hands-on day where HR leaders design and build an AI solution to a real HR problem, with no coding needed. You’ll also get to compete with your team against the others – the best solutions will be presented at the end, and the winners will be rewarded!
Redesigning HR work for the AI era
More and more of HR’s routine work can be handed over to AI: integrations between HR and payroll systems, documentation, standard processes and routine reporting. That frees up time for the work that needs people, such as coaching, development, data-based decision-making and designing how HR works as a whole.
A year or two ago, most conversations about AI in HR were about chatbots answering policy questions. Today, the conversation is different. AI agents can now screen candidates, coordinate onboarding, draft performance summaries, and act on our behalf across the systems we use every day. That raises big questions. What should we hand over? What must stay human? And what does a great HR team look like when part of the team is software?
HR leaders who help design this change get to shape how it plays out in their own organisation. Our event gives you a head start, with the tools, expert coaching and support from peers working on the same questions.

Take on a ready-made task or bring your own challenge
Choose one of two ready-made tasks or solve your own, specific challenge. All tasks use synthetic sample data – no real personal data is used at any point.
01 – Automate the admin, led by Greenstep
Choose an HR or payroll routine or basic process and build an app that removes manual steps and takes it to the next level.
02 – Workforce strategy, led by HiBob
Map a workforce challenge from where it is today, through the changes AI brings, to where you want it to be. Then build a solution that gets you there.
03 – Your own challenge
Bring your own HR problem you are working on right now. Share it with your team and convince them it’s the one to solve!
Greenstep’s and HiBob’s HR and technology experts coach every team on design throughout the build.
How the winner is chosen
A judging panel scores every solution on four equally weighted criteria:
- Impact on HR work: How much routine the solution removes, or how much better the decisions it supports
- Responsibility: How the solution handles personal data, who is accountable for it and how it meets the requirements of GDPR and the EU AI Act
- Ready for real use: How realistic it is to take the solution from prototype to everyday use
- Presentation: How clearly the team explains the problem, the solution and its value

Keynote speaker: Maddi Dick
Maddi Dick builds AI enabled people operations for fast-moving tech companies. She’s an independent People Ops consultant and experience designer, currently working with the AI native people team at Lovable, and is also part of the HiBob innovation advisory board. She’s in the trenches of AI transformation, where the most common question right now is whether a piece of work suits a person, an agent, or both.
With over 13 years of experience in people and operational roles, across global markets, she has seen what is working and what is not and therefore what needs to change to navigate the future ahead. She is passionate about supporting people teams to capitalise on the technology that exists today, so that work can be confidently reshaped and reallocated between humans and agents. She believes that people teams will play a critical role in leading organisations into the era where technology amplifies our most human qualities.
Maddi is known for her practical, people-first approach to technology and supporting the adoption of new tools and ways of working without losing sight of the employees they serve.
